• Newman and liberalism. Ties into this: religious liberalism seems humble but is really not.
• Tabletistas seem to think Anglo-Catholics don’t know what sacramentality is. As they say over here, ‘Whiskey tango foxtrot?’ If that’s true it points out to me 1) how parochial the RC liberals still are and 2) related to that, they never were directly imitating mainline Protestants; the mistakes of the 1960s just opened them up to the same errors. But they’re expressed through a different culture from the mainliners (the Thomas Day factor or why they’re low-church).
• Why the people fighting over church buildings often aren’t thieves at heart.
