From RR
- A left-libertarian throws down the gauntlet: are libertarianism and social conservatism incompatible? Yes, say he and the drawbridge Catholics (not all Catholics). No, say classical liberals. Why not? Because libertarianism favours whatever works (which is why the old ways have lasted) and libertinism and selfishness in the long run don’t. That’s why, even with fallen human nature, the magic of the market works to promote flourishing. Discuss!
- Two lanes on the road to freedom.
- Ehren Watada, hero. Free at last. Watada is not a pacifist, and he based his stand not just on the falsehood of the justifications for the war but on the usurpation of legitimate constitutional authority by the officials in the George W. Bush administration.
- Like any honest man, Joe is running under his own name. He happens to have been born with a fine Irish name, a name that many Massachusetts voters will find comfortable rather than unfamiliar. In Massachusetts politics, that’s a real plus, the sort of thing that will help voters hear his ideas and decide this is a man they can trust.
- From the sublime to the ridiculous: man threatened with year in jail and sex-offender status... for being alone naked in his own home. Thanks to a busybody cop’s wife using his property as a short cut (why not get her for trespassing?).
