 Ecclesiastical bibs and bobs
- Photos: Monreale, Sicily from Mere Catholic Miscellany and St Agnes Church in St Paul, Minnesota (the best of German-American Catholicism, like the Brompton Oratory doing conservative Novus Ordo all along) from NLM.
- The art of Matthew Alderman.
- Making the rounds: paper on Roman Catholic/Eastern Orthodox relations.
- Fr Methodius: Eastern Orthodoxy in South Africa (late-’90s black mass conversions from vagantes) with lots of photos, and well done, good and faithful servant, a charismatic-movement C of E priest who spent his last 15 years as an Orthodox priest.
- Going back and forth with Stuart Koehl on RC/EO marriages. We pop up throughout the thread.
- ‘Unhappy’ Queen sends Lord Chamberlain to ask Archbishop Nichols about Pope’s Anglican plan.
- Poetry by commenter Tubbs (with a couple of tweaks) on life here at Runnemede on the coldest mornings of the year:
Numb were the (Blogsman’s) fingers while he told His (psalter), and while his frosted breath Like pious billows from a censer old, Seem’d taking flight for heaven, without a death, Past the sweet Virgin’s picture, while his prayer he saith.
