Because they’re funny
On the subject of things Good Catholics ™ are not supposed to like because they’re not endless soft-focus programmes of the Rosary and Gregorian chant sing-alongs... I like the Simpsons. Why? Is it because they got a plug from L’Oss. R. ? No.It’s because they’re funny. You know, that thing that keeps us all from committing suicide every day. Funny. Because it’s true. what is tolerant conservatism?
Charity and discretion about peoples failings while at the same time not making excuses for those vices either. Don’t ask, don’t tell, we give you your space and God forgives but we don’t teach that it’s not a sin.
