Infallible church vs subject to change by vote are irreconcilable, never mind the headlines about sex. As Patriarch Jeremias wrote to the Lutherans, let all future talks be only for friendship’s sake. Some history.
• Met. Hilarion again: mandatory celibacy for deacons and priests wrong. A valid opinion. But this doesn’t sound right. Celibacy is discipline not morals and sacramentally they’re the same church (RC doctrine; allowable Orthodox opinion); not so the Anglicans (except, as with other Protestants, baptism and marriage).
• Bulgaria: religious liberty means schismatics have rights.
• Wrongly deported. Individual liberty matters.
