The Catholic faith
The 150th anniversary of a difficult dogma
Some claim the Russian Old Believers affirmed it.

In any event, I wrote this a few years ago: reconciling the Immaculate Conception to the Byzantine view.

Frankly all the theorizing/fighting about the different views on original sin goes over my head. Between the Scylla of Calvinism (monstrous doctrines — St Augustine taken on a wrong tangent) and the Charybdis of Pelagianism (what the Byzantine position seems to sound like if you’re not careful) is the authentic Catholic position shared by both sides.
