From Miguel José Ernst-Sandoval

The rules are:
  • The rules of the game get posted at the beginning.
  • Each player answers the questions about himself.
  • At the end of the post, the player then tags five people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
What was I doing 10 years ago:

Working at the small-town newspaper just like now. Possibly getting ready for Easter, or getting my Slav on shopping at Hanusey’s and being introduced to Krakus the Polish market in Port Richmond, Philadelphia by the Urbanowiczes, or visiting Jeff Culbreath and Alison Engler in northern California; I don’t remember exactly.

Five things on my ‘to do’ list today:
  • Catch up with LRC and the blogs in my feeds, and of course add at least one entry to this blog for the day.
  • Ride my bicycle into town as the monthly Clark Park People’s Flea Market starts up again for the year and — I hope — won’t be rained out. (It’s starting to cloud up again as I write.)
  • Have kebabs for lunch in the park.
  • Pop into church this evening.
  • Listen to the audio commentary of The Simpsons Movie before returning it to Netflix.
Some things I’d do if I were really rich:
  • Buy a house and a German car, the kind you can drive into a wall and get out of unhurt.
  • Buy my father confessor a house and make sure he’s well taken care of for health problems.
  • Go on a grand tour of the world.
  • Give to libertarian causes.
  • Keep working even though I wouldn’t have to, for the good of my soul.
Three bad habits:
  • Losing track of time on the computer even though I think for me the computer’s a good thing. It’s a sin to waste a beautiful Saturday by spending it indoors.
  • Skimming instead of really reading.
  • Becoming furious when at work mistakes end up in print.
Five places I’ve lived:
Five jobs I’ve had:
  • Yard work including going on the roof of the house to remove fallen branches. That didn’t last very long.
  • Working in bookshops
  • Office temp
  • Library cataloguing assistant
  • Newspaper theatre/film critic
Five books I’ve recently read:
  • Angela’s Ashes
  • The Liar by Stephen Fry
  • Peterotica, or The Hot Chick Who Was Totally Italian or Maybe Some Kind of Spanish by Peter Griffin... no, really, Changing Places by David Lodge
  • Bishops at Large by Peter Anson
  • The Papacy by the Abbé Guettée
Five people to tag:

I’ll weasel out of this one and say whoever wants to play. Many already have done in the form of a meme of fours.
