Real history
Back in Cold War days, we were regaled with stories of how the Reds wanted to rule the world, and the US wanted only national liberation for all. The Russkies, we were told, spied on their own people in the most intrusive and evil fashion. Not us! (Beat the chest.)

The truth was that the Communists wanted to rule the world, but lacked the economic wherewithal, due to socialism, and so were far more pacific than the US. It was Truman, for example, not Stalin, who started the Cold War.

The US wanted to rule the world, and thanks to semi-capitalism, has a lot more loot at its disposal. And clearly the US was green with envy at the Soviet domestic spying system, and so is duplicating it here in the land of the flea and the home of the knave.
Very scary, kids
Nearly half (49%) of Americans think the President has the authority to suspend the Constitution.
