A beacon and holdout from better times?

Camden, New Jersey’s City Hall. For those who don’t know, this little city is in the tradition of dead/dying industrial (cross-river/state-line) neighbours of big American cities, smaller cities that are now massive slums and very dangerous places indeed (Camden is literally one of the country’s worst). I know that but, driving back to Pennsylvania across the Ben Franklin Bridge late at night, actually find the sight of this confident-looking 1930s building with its clock faces lit up (a bit like an altar or votive lights) cheery: a sign of happier memories and that perhaps not all hope is gone.
