- Fake-outrage junkies. From the furore over a bishop’s calm conclusions (fallible) based upon his study of history, nothing to do with doctrine, to pillorying an athlete for smoking pot.
- Clinton sacks Bush’s Aids supremo. One may argue whether even humanitarian work is the state’s business but what a message: now that the open left have won there’s no more need for compromise with putative conservatives.
- Austrian economics: the ultimate achievement of an intellectual journey.
- Obama’s ‘war on terror’.
- Canadian government continues ouster of US war resisters. Sad but I understand why deserters have to go to prison; they signed contracts. Doing their time is part of war resisters’ heroism.
- Freedom from government. Ron Paul on ‘faith-based initiatives’ or the state telling religions what to teach.
