• Why most ‘Christian’ music and other entertainment sucks. That reminds me; I recently read somewhere that ‘On Eagle’s Wings’ sounds like Barry Manilow. It does! (Not a knock on Manilow or his genre; they have their place and make many happy but don’t belong in liturgical worship.) This is nothing new as Thomas Day wrote. Using romantic pop songs in church is a longstanding problem in Western Catholic churches that the legitimate liturgical movement was trying to fix; what happened instead was the rite was trashed and, to fill the void, like kudzu this crap took over.
