The root of virtue
At least civic virtue: money. As men like von Mises explained, through it (through markets) more people prosper and it does more for real tolerance than any government scheme. (A dollar, even from somebody you don’t like for any reason, is still a dollar.) Greed (‘love of money’, 1 Timothy 6:10), part of fallen human nature, is ‘the root of all evil’.
