Patrimony: history
  • I like 1800s-early-1900s RC style with eccentricity and panache, like I first saw when I was 17 (my church experience up to then pointed the way to it), but here’s a brief look at the older, other Anglo-Catholicism, or what might have been: Sarum revival, that kind of ceremonial with the BCP standing in for the missal.
  • Architecture in a similar Gothic mood even though Sarum style didn’t win: Cram and Goodhue. And while you’re at the now mostly quiet Whapsters’ blog, read some remarks on what historians do.
