From Ordered Liberty

• Stephen Prothero busts on Randianism. The blogger, a Burkean/Kirkian, like many other Christians orthodox and non, thinks libertarianism is selfishness. Wish I had the learning to write a rebuttal. How about: how is defending your liberty selfish?
• D-Day. As you can imagine, I like the Greatest Generation very much... but am an America Firster. Germany and Japan had neither means nor plans to conquer the US. Let the Nazis and the Communists destroy each other, don’t hand half of Europe to the Coms (who were worse than the Nazis but you never hear about it) and doing business with the Japanese Empire wouldn’t have been much different from dealing with Red China now.
• Obama in a dream world.
• Dissenting religion and the push for American independence according to Burke.
• American independence means religious liberty according to the only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence.
• US economy has just hit a brick wall.
