A few of my fave things

A trifecta: preserving the ’50s, Caribbean Spanish culture (from Desi Arnaz to Daddy Yankee) and tying that together to help autistic-spectrum kids! An artist has painted Havana’s famous ’40s and ’50s cars, left behind when the revolution stopped imports from the States, to raise money to help a local Protestant college (I think they’re still affiliated with Tripp’s Northern Baptists) with a program to help Asperger’s teens (smart but socially awkward because of a brain glitch) survive college.

I understand a lot of the cars are in poor condition; the government (which recently admitted Communism doesn’t work and legalized private property for the first time in 50 years) caught on that suckers like me love the cars and fixed some up for paid tours.
