Seriously loving Christmas

Malvern’s Victorian Christmas. In one gallery were these four-week-old kittens and, over matryoshki of the tsar and his family, I met an Eastern European type I know well, a man born to Russian exiles in 1922, who grew up in another Eastern European country (Bulgaria) and came here right after World War II (refugee, displaced person) after Roosevelt gave Eastern Europe to the Communists.

Diorama of Trooping the Colour. An older anglophile gentleman in a bowler made it. The place didn’t look familiar. Sort of like Marble Arch at Hyde Park but of course Trooping the Colour doesn’t happen there. He said he made up the place.
