Newspapers, creatively destroyed
That biz is the Titanic with the crew of the Costa Concordia. It deserves to go.
Fifty years of gains, wiped out in a decade. This is a total collapse of the newspaper business. Says economist Mark Perry:
It’s another one of those huge Schumpeterian gales of creative destruction.
Of course I won’t miss it.

My life after newspapers is under way thanks to providence and the free market alive on the Web. Made a killing in two weeks then got fired when the work ran out, and now have a job writing web content for clients of a young entrepreneur in the hosting etc. biz. Fun really. There’s gold in them thar hills even in a depression, and once I get enough PayPal cash I’m plonking some of it down for krugerrands.
