Nine things you don’t have to believe when you’re Catholic

  • The Pope is perfect. All of his opinions are true.
  • All non-Catholics are going to hell.
  • Limbo.
  • Holy welfare state.
  • The Greek Catholic churches are perfect because they’re under Rome so, to become Catholic, the Orthodox have to change to be just like them.
  • The Second Vatican Council was necessary and beneficial because the Pope called it.
  • English Novus Ordo, old or new, is better English than the Book of Common Prayer, and the paperback hymnals are better than the Hymnal 1940.
  • Clerical celibacy is necessary.
  • Priests accused of being molesters are innocent.
