What libertarianism is not, and more

  1. Russell Kirk had a more insightful understanding of the nature of libertarianism: http://www.mmisi.org/ma/25_04/kirk.pdf. At the end of the day, libertarianism is the negation of duty in favor of rights, the embrace of license over liberty. Our responsibilities to each go far beyond "do no harm," and the State has a place in human affairs to ensure not only that people are affirmatively attacked by others but that virtue is encouraged to allow for human beings to thrive. This is solid Aristotlean & Thomistic wisdom. Let us attend.
